The City of Loveland has many streets named after presidents, with several places to have a drink along those streets. Some friends of mine and I often take the holiday to do a "Presidential Bar Crawl;" this year, we stepped it up a notch.

Eisenhower, Lincoln, Cleveland, and Washington are just a few of the Loveland, Colorado, streets that are named after former U.S. Presidents. Perhaps you saw me and my "cabinet" in Loveland for Presidents Day, in costume, having fun.

This whole thing goes way back to when an ex girlfriend and myself lived in Fort Collins. On Presidents Day, we would make sure to get into the Chili's on Horsetooth to enjoy one of their "El Presidente" margaritas. It was cute and fun. Over the recent years, the "event' has taken on a new life. A friend and I have been doing this Loveland crawl on Presidents Day for a few years, adjusting it a little, each year.

About a month before Presidents Day 2023, my friend Randy and I were talking about the upcoming crawl, and we got a crazy idea: "Let's dress up for it." Randy claimed George Washington before I had the chance, but I enjoyed the idea of going as Abraham Lincoln. We got onto our Amazon accounts and ordered the costumes. Randy's wife got in on the fun and ordered herself a pair of U.S. Flag overalls.

THE PRESIDENTIAL BAR CRAWL IN LOVELAND, 2023

My friend Jordan and I arrived at Chili's first. We ordered appetizers and El Presidentes. We thought black and while would be fun for Abraham Lincoln. I honestly felt like an elementary school kid dressed up for the day.

Soon, my friend Randy texted me: "You better have on your costume." Obviously, he didn't want to be the only President at Chili's. I told him not to worry. The photo below is after four of us had the margaritas with our lunches. We did have a driver.

From Chili's the crawl went all the way to the west side of Loveland, along Eisenhower, to The Office Lounge. On Presidents Day, we call it The "Oval" Office. Randy and his wife Sarah came up with this idea in 2022. While at The "Oval" Office, we enjoyed a shot- A Blow Job; I don't think I need to say anything more about that, if only to mention that they happened to be out of whipped topping that day.

After The "Oval" Office, our crawl headed downtown, where Lincoln and Cleveland are the main thoroughfares.  While walking along Lincoln, George Washington happened upon Probasco's Book and Wig Store. He did a little window shopping.

Our  next stop on our Presidential Bar Crawl was to have Lincoln at the theater- the Metrolux Dine-inWe all had a beer and they allowed us to get a fun shot of Lincoln and Washington in one of the theaters; they even gave us FREE popcorn. I ended up carrying the popcorn around as a prop: "Made it!' I shouted to passerby.

While seated within the restaurant/bar area of the theater, the bartender carded us all. Randy presented a dollar bill as George Washington's ID. It was great.

Our next stop on our Presidential Bar Crawl, was to stop in at The Cove, on LincolnWe had pickle shots, because The Cove is famous for them, and a lot of Presidents have been "pickled."

It was a beautiful day in Downtown Loveland as we paraded around; cars honked, people wanted photos. Costumes were a great idea.

The next stop on our crawl as over to Slice 'N Roll, which is on Cleveland. We had a beer and said hello to some kids that had come in. They were a little bewildered, but that's OK.

Our Presidential Bar Crawl of 2023 ended at a longtime restaurant in Downtown which is along Lincoln, The Black Steer. The bar area of the restaurant is the "Rear of the Steer;" it has a "rustic" vibe, so we named it Camp David for the day. One last drink, relaxing with an old friend- Just like what (I assume) happens upon occasion at the Presidential retreat.
