Last month, a report from Dwellsy put four Colorado cities on a list of the most expensive places for renters.

Now, the company has released updated data from September — and another Centennial State city is on the list.

Let's review.

Which Colorado cities are still the most expensive for renters?

Last month's Dwellsy report ranked Denver as the ninth priciest city for renters in the U.S. This month's analysis leaves the Mile High City in the same spot; despite this, the area's median asking rent has gone down by $30.

Dwellsy's new data still ranks Silverthorne as the No. 1 most expensive small city for renters. However, Boulder and Fort Collins, which previously sat in sixth and eighth places, have both gone down a spot — why?

A new Colorado city took their place.

This Colorado city is now one of the priciest for rent

According to Dwellsy's new report, Edwards is now the second most expensive small town for renters in Colorado and the sixth in the country.

The mountain town's median asking rent of $2,850 is a nearly 27% increase from last year, making it even costlier than Denver — although, to be fair, Boulder and Fort Collins out-price the Mile High City too.

What else has changed + what does this mean?

Another change from last month's report is Greeley. Dwellsy previously ranked it as the seventh city with the fastest-growing rent in the U.S., but now, it's jumped up to the sixth.

Despite this daunting data, Dwellsy CEO Jonas Bordo notes this report has hope for renters.

"Much to renters' relief, month-to-month rent prices dropped for the first time in nearly a year," he said. "From August to September 2022, we saw a 0.7 percent decrease in rent growth. This signals that we may have finally reached the end of a recent rent inflation."

His statement rings true for Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins — hopefully, other Colorado cities will follow suit.
