Windsor Police have confirmed a fatality in a crash from early Wednesday morning on Aug. 4.

According to the report, at about 7:10 a.m., police responded to a crash half a mile south of Highway 392 on Colorado Boulevard/County Road 13.

Upon initial investigation, officers found that a motorcyclist was going north when they attempted to pass another vehicle going in the same direction ahead of them. When the motorcycle rider tried to pass, they collided head on with a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction in the other lane.

Upon impact, the motorcyclist was ejected, and was pronounced dead at the scene when police arrived. The driver of the car involved in the collision did not sustain any injuries.

The roadway was closed for several hours pending investigation, but is open now. The Weld County Coroner will release further details and the identity of the motorcyclist at a later time.
